Dungeon Keeper Strategies


One of the biggest mysteries in Dungeon Keeper is what to sacrifice at the temple. Temples also make your monsters happier, can cure them of disease or chicken-ness. But the most fun is to drop your creatures into the temple waters too see what happens. Here is what we've found so far: Imps - Sacrifice a few of these little guys and they get much cheaper to create! Well worth it. Fly & Spider - Get a Warlock 2 Beetles - Complete current manufacturing 2 Flies - Complete current research Beetle & Spider - Get a Dark Mistress 3 Spiders - Get a Bile Demon Ghost - All your chickens die Vampire - All monsters diseased 2 Bile Demons - All monsters turn into chickens Horned Reaper - All monsters angry! Dark Mistress & Bile Demon & Troll - Get the Horned Reaper Do NOT sacrifice the undead, or chickens, unless you like making the gods angry. Speaking of the Horned Reaper, he's a great fighter, but can go a bit bezerk at times. If he gives you too much trouble, you can pay him off by dropping money on him. Makes him happier (me too).

SECRET LEVELS!

You can find specials for access to secret worlds on the following levels: 8, 9, 14, 15, 17 Also, there are levels that only appear during certain phases of the moon (such as the full moon). The program determines this by your CPU clock, which can be changed. So get out the almanac and start exploring!

SKIRMISH MODE

Solved the game? Can't find a biological opponent? You can play all those multiplayer maps against the computer! Just go to your DOS prompt and start the game using '-1player' as a parameter. In the following example you should be in your Dungeon Keeper directory: C\>keeper95 -1player or C\>keeper -1player

HINTS, TIPS AND CHEATS

Here are some hints, tips and cheats to help you in Dungeon Keeper. WHAT SHALL I SACRIFICE IN THE TEMPLE? The temple can be used to sacrifice creatures to the gods. Here are some suggestions of what to sacrifice and what not to sacrifice. Sacrifice imps - they get much cheaper



Sacrifice a fly and a spider - you get a warlock

Sacrifice 2 beetles - complete current manufacturing

Sacrifice 2 flies - complete current research

Sacrifice a beetle and a spider - you get a dark mistress

Sacrifice 3 spiders - you get a bile demon

Sacrifice some dark mistresses (not sure how many) - you get a vampire (thanx to DUNCAN HAY for that one)

Sacrifice a beetle, a chicken and a troll - you get a dark mistress

And the one you've all beem waiting for.......

Sacrifice a dark mistress, a bile demon and a troll -

OR An orc and a bile demon -

OR 2 ghosts and a bile demon -

HORNED REAPER!

Do not sacrifice 2 barbarians and a bile demon

OR An orc, a bile demon and a dragon

OR A giant and a vampire

otherwise all creatures turn into chickens!




Press enter on the numerical keypad for a cheats menu!!! By the way, for some people, this cheat does not work. I'm not sure why. PLEASE DON'T SEND ME ANY E-MAILS ABOUT THIS CHEAT. Thanx. THE LEVEL I'M ON IS REALLY HARD, AND I ALWAYS RUN OUT OF MONEY, WHAT SHALL I DO? Here is the cheat to get more money. First go into your Dungeon Keeper directory and find the file "Levels". Then find the relevant .txt file, eg if you want more money on level 14, find the level14.txt file. Now change the Start_Money to as much or as little as you like!!! WHY DO MY MONSTERS KEEP FIGHTING AMONGST THEMSELVES? This is because they are enemies. Here is a list of monsters who hate each other. Spiders and flies.
Bile demons and skeletons.
Warlocks and vampires.
Demon spawn and hellhounds
Horned reapers hate anyone and will kill them if you slap them.
To deal with this problem, you could try building lots of separate lairs(this is the case with spiders and flies, you cannot really stop them from coming to your dungeon). Or you can not build a graveyard so vampires do not come along, and don't build a prison so skeletons cannot be risen.
IN THE TORTURE CHAMBER, SOME MONSTERS AND HEROES ARE IN THERE FOR AGES, WHAT SHALL I DO?

This is actually quite good, if they lose any life, heal them and give them the occasional chicken as well. Treating them well increases the chances of them coming to your side. If you don't want some of the heroes because they fight with others, such as Samurais who fight with dark mistresses, either leave them in the prison or let them die in the torture chamber. MY HORNED REAPERS ARE GOING PSYCHO, WHAT SHALL I DO?

Build them a separate lair, hatchery, a temple and training room behind a locked door. Also, drop money on him. When a fight arises, unlock the door to set him free!!! HOW DO I MAKE USE OF THE SCAVENGER ROOM? Place a majority of your imps in it, and the imps from the enemy should be attracted to your dungeon. The problem is, the scavenger room is very expensive and has to be big to stand any chances of doing anything.
